Well, I'll just have to go see the movie.

About the "cornball" moment... wasn't there such a cornball moment also in the otherwise so bleak DAWN OF THE DEAD? (i.e. the rednecks shooting down zombies roaming the open countryside, from a long distance, with banjo music in the soundtrack...)

Now, KNIGHTRIDERS -- that movie moved me practically to tears. I guess that deep down, I'm corny. :)

Perhaps Romero needed the experience of working on Land of The Dead to prompt him in the direction that Diary of The Dead apparently took. The notion of "Who's who" has always been pervasive in the Dead series, and it's telling that Diary of The Dead is entitled as such. Who is more the insatiable monster? The heedless media guzzlers or the undead that they are compelled to film?

Porn and horror seem to be the last frontiers of chance taking.
