I read the PW piece to say the 100 notable books issue comes out "this Sunday" (12/5), and 10 best books on 12/12. Meaning, perhaps, they haven't gone from 100 to 10. At any rate, my copy of the rulebook says you must have the numbers to hand before withholding any baked goods. Hold on there. Given that their coverage of fiction has been spotty -- it's not surprising that their idea of "the year's best" would have significant gaps.
