Jessa Crispin: "not a single goddam publisher [in Chicago]." Um, Dalkey? It was Dalkey who published David Markson's work. It is Dalkey who has kept Elkin, Gass, O'Brien and the like in print. And they're a nonprofit unrelated to the campus their office is housed on. Plus, they still have that 100 books for $500 deal for those looking to fill a bookshelf. Certainly, over the years, they've made a sizable dent in my wallet. Then again, I've never been to Chicago.
