M.J. Rose, who is guest blogging for the Virtual Book Tour over at the Elegant Variation and Sarah's, points to this Chicago Sun-Times article about the end of books as we know it. The usual factors are bandied about: used books and multiple entertainment choices. But I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that the slight drop has much to do with the current economic climate.
