Lynne Cheney -- A Menace to Our Children, A Menace to Society

The White House is now proclaiming Lynne Cheney's Sisters "a literary masterpiece" and "a seminal treatise." Uh, actually it was John Locke who wrote treatises. From what I can tell, this is potboiler fiction served American style.

Regardless, it remains a mystery why the religious right isn't demanding for Lynne Cheney's immediate imprisonment right now. After all, consider the following passage (put up on a federally subsidized website!):

"She was sitting with her legs bent in inverted V's, and when she leaned back on her arms to consider her arrangement, Sophie saw that the front of her dress strained slightly. Her breasts were growing and Sophie wondered if she had begun to menstraute yet. And if she had, would she tell her about it? Would her odd matter-of-factness carry over to her own coming of age?"

The sexualization of a minor? Say it ain't so, Lynne. I mean, isn't that against the PROTECT Act of 2003, which went out of its way to clamp down those who create child pornography?

Why not listen to the words of President Bush himself?

"The new law also confronts an evil that is too often a cause of child abuse and abduction in America -- the evil of child pornography. In the past, prosecutors have been hindered by not having all the tools needed to prosecute criminals who create child pornography. Under the Protect Act, we've seen images of children, even those created with computer technology, will now be illegal, giving prosecutors an important new tool. (Applause.) Obscene images of children, no matter how they are made, incite abuse, raise the dangers to children and will not be tolerated in America. (Applause.)"

Since the excerpts from Sisters were placed onto the White House website in image form, does this not call for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Lynne Cheney?

You do realize that isn't the actual White House website, right?
