Eddie

Though I have made millions from my singular photo of Studs, which you had the good taste to use, it would be nice if you gave me photo credit for my picture

I grew up in Chicago — and it was great having Studs and Mike Royko and Leon Dupres, Nelson Algren and Ernie Banks and Sid McCoy and Daddy-0 Daly as cultural guide posts.

No secret about what made Studs such an original—he listened. Really listened.

No mean trick for a deaf guy.

I met Studs Terkel when I was a journalism student in college about 30 years ago and he signed a paperback copy of Working for me. What a generous, gracious man and a great chronicler of American life.
