		<description>And CBS treated Cronkite shabbily in his retirement. He was basically forced out so CBS could bring in the younger, vapid Dan Rather. CBS made Cronkite a consultant, but never consulted him. (His treatment is similar to what NBC handed out to Johnny Carson when it decided to go with Jay Leno.) It has been a long road that got us where we are today.</description>
