Books are obviously an "anti-social experience." This is just obvious. Reading is to conversation (and writing) as masturbation is to intercourse.

Ever notice that, contrary to everybody's wild fantasies, libraries are terrible places to meet people?

When you read, you want to feel as if (finally, gloriously), you are alone with your own thoughts and those of a well-chosen, particular friend. I have a feeling that now that all of these executives at big publishing companies are losing their jobs, they are going to be snapped up by consortiums who will be creating effective, ACTUALLY reader-friendly ebook formats.

Mind porn. Onanistic leather fetish devices. The ideal eReader: an object that looks like a grimoire bound in human skin, but is a different book every time you open it.
