I was obsessed with cover songs for awhile, notably the original versions of songs better known for their covers. (Otis Redding’s “Respect,” for instance.) I put together a large mix CD set of these songs for some friends, and Second Hand Songs was an invaluable resource. It’s still a really terrific way to find out who’s covered a song I particularly like.
