“Any list that excludes Herzog is worthless.” Amen.

That list is weird. I haven’t heard of a lot of those people, and I’m sort of a film nerd.

I’m surprised they left out Todd Solondz.

At the rate they were going, especially given the Wachowski worship, I’m surprised they left out Brett Ratner.

Surprised at the lack of Jim Jarmusch as well as many of the names listed above in the comments section.

They got number one right, at least. Agreed about Herzog, and where the hell is Spike Lee?

I don’t see a swimsuit rating for Miyazaki. It’s about time the rest of the world came to appreciate the swimsuits of Japanese animator Miyazaki.

How the hell does David Lynch get the #1 spot? I’m also thinking that they probably should’ve shortened the list to 20 or 25. 40 is way too inclusive. Finally, since when is Errol Morris’ “Fog of War” forthcoming? Haven’t I had that on DVD for at least two years?
