  1. Hooray. I still love Murakami, though. I haven’t bought the book yet, but I caught like six of them in the New Yorker. I think Birnbaum translated “The Folklore of our Times” (the NYer version). Did Philip Gabriel do a different translation for the collection, or is it still the Birnbaum one?

  2. zach: I believe the translation is Gabriel, who did all the NYer ones. But don’t quote me on this. Don’t have the book in front of me.

  3. Though Robert’s father’s name is Alfred. But it’s not the same Alfred. Confusing. I’ll abandon this thread now.
